1. Agreement and operator
These Terms form an agreement between you and Deutsche Kraniche Virtual. By creating or using an account, submitting a flight, or using a members-only service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Notice, Community Standards, and applicable operational rules presented to you.
If you do not agree, do not create or use an account.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. We use self-declaration for ordinary age verification and do not normally request a birth date or identity document. You must stop using the service and contact [email protected] if you discover that you do not meet the eligibility requirements.
Membership is available worldwide where lawful. You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to you.
3. Accounts
You must:
- Provide an ordinary chosen name and a valid email address.
- Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
- Complete email verification.
- Protect your password, recovery methods, and multi-factor authentication factors.
- Maintain only one account.
- Promptly report suspected account compromise.
- Not sell, transfer, share, or lend your account.
Deutsche Kraniche Virtual will never ask you to send a password or current MFA code through ordinary email or community chat.
Creating an account does not guarantee access to every feature or active pilot privileges. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual may reasonably verify eligibility, technical compatibility, or completion of onboarding before enabling particular features.
4. Member services
Deutsche Kraniche Virtual may provide flight recording, schedules, events, training material, community spaces, statistics, awards, software, integrations, and other simulation-related services. Features may change, experience interruptions, or be discontinued. Current availability is reported on our separate status site.
We do not promise that every aircraft, route, statistic, integration, or community feature will always remain available.
5. Flight records and operational integrity
You must submit flight and simulator information honestly and must not falsify, manipulate, replay, fabricate, or conceal information to obtain credit, rank, awards, or another advantage. You must follow the operational rules shown for the applicable activity.
Automated checks may flag a flight for review. A material membership sanction based on a flag will receive meaningful human review. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual may correct, reject, or remove a flight record that is incomplete, technically invalid, inconsistent with disclosed rules, or reasonably believed to be manipulated.
All flights, manuals, schedules, and procedures are for simulation and entertainment only. They must not be used for real-world flight planning, training, navigation, dispatch, maintenance, or safety decisions.
6. Profiles and privacy choices
Profiles may be public, visible to authenticated members, or private. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual does not publish a public pilot roster. Some fields, including email addresses, are never shown. Public profiles are marked noindex, although Deutsche Kraniche Virtual cannot guarantee that a search engine or third party will honor that instruction.
You are responsible for information you choose to make visible. Changing visibility restricts future access, subject to short-lived caches and copies another person may already have made.
7. Third-party services and networks
Online networks and other integrated third-party services are operated independently and have their own rules and privacy practices. You must follow those rules when using the service. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual cannot control a third party’s availability, enforcement decisions, or handling of information.
Connecting a third-party identifier is optional unless a specific activity clearly states otherwise. While a Deutsche Kraniche Virtual account is linked to a VATSIM or IVAO account, Deutsche Kraniche Virtual may disclose the member’s network ID and relevant flight dates to the linked network. This disclosure stops when the accounts are unlinked, unless disclosure is legally required.
A restriction imposed by a third party does not automatically require the same Deutsche Kraniche Virtual outcome. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual may consider relevant third-party conduct and will apply its own review process.
8. Member content
You retain ownership of content you create and submit, subject to the rights of others in any material you include. You represent that you have the right to submit it.
You grant Deutsche Kraniche Virtual a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, and display the content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Deutsche Kraniche Virtual service according to your visibility choices. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup expiration, anonymous aggregate use, material another member has independently shared, and content preserved for moderation, security, legal compliance, or legal claims.
You can normally delete your posts and uploads through the available controls. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual may temporarily restrict deletion when the content is part of an unresolved report, flight-integrity review, security investigation, or legal preservation duty.
Do not upload content prohibited by the Community Standards or content that infringes another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
9. Community conduct
You must follow the Community Standards on Deutsche Kraniche Virtual-controlled services and in other spaces when you are representing Deutsche Kraniche Virtual or the conduct materially affects Deutsche Kraniche Virtual members, systems, or operations. Platform-specific rules also apply.
Reports, interim restrictions, sanctions, and appeals are handled under Enforcement and Appeals.
10. Communications
You agree to receive communications necessary to operate your account, including verification, password reset, security, service, policy, privacy, and enforcement notices. You cannot opt out of essential communications while keeping an active account.
Newsletters, event announcements, and other optional community messages require a separate opt-in subscription and can be disabled without affecting membership.
11. Financial Contributions
Financial contributions are voluntary. They do not purchase membership, rank, moderation preference, operational privileges, advertising, or guaranteed availability. An external processor handles payment information under its own terms.
A member may separately choose to show a contributor marker. The marker is binary and does not reveal an amount. Disabling recognition removes future display but does not reverse a completed contribution.
Unless a contribution page expressly states otherwise, contributions are not purchases and are non-refundable except where required by law or duplicated through technical error.
12. Intellectual property
Deutsche Kraniche Virtual’s original name, branding, software, written material, and design are owned by Deutsche Kraniche Virtual or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer those rights to members.
References to real airlines, flight operators, aircraft, airports, routes, schedules, trademarks, or logos may be used for identification, commentary, compatibility, or simulation context. Those rights remain with their respective owners. Do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation where none exists.
13. Suspension, termination, and account closure
You may close your account through your account settings or by contacting [email protected]. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account for violation of these Terms or related policies, legal or security risk, prolonged inactivity under a separately published operational rule, or material harm to Deutsche Kraniche Virtual or its community.
We will ordinarily provide notice and an opportunity to respond, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary. Appeals are available as described in Enforcement and Appeals.
Sections that by their nature should survive account closure—including ownership, preserved evidence, disclaimers, limits of liability, and dispute terms—continue to apply.
14. Disclaimers
Deutsche Kraniche Virtual is a recreational simulation service and is not an airline, air carrier, travel agency, flight school, approved training organization, maintenance provider, employer, or source of real-world aviation authority. Deutsche Kraniche Virtual does not sell transportation or issue real-world qualifications.
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free software, accurate third-party data, compatibility with every system, or preservation of every member record.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deutsche Kraniche Virtual and its members, managers, staff, and volunteers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, opportunities, goodwill, or profits arising from the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deutsche Kraniche Virtual’s total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid directly to Deutsche Kraniche Virtual during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer or privacy rights in your place of residence continue to apply when they cannot lawfully be waived.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date and provide appropriate notice of material changes. If a change requires new consent, we will request it. Continued use after a properly notified effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
Previous versions remain available in Policy History.
